MyEhive.com promotes handmade goods, provides instant shop creation and a haven for handmade devotees on the internet. By championing non mass-produced goods we offer mutually beneficial trading partnerships between buyers and sellers.
We will be the UK & Ireland’s largest website of local suppliers and sellers of handmade goods, we are offering you a chance to cut out the ‘middleman’ and sell direct to the public, with no commission charged and no 3rd party mark-up so buyers and sellers get the best price for their goods. When is MyEhive open to buyers?
From the 1st of October 2008.
How does the free period work for the first 100 sellers?
The first 100 artisans to register for an MyEhive shop will have a free shop for life and be able to take advantage of 100 product places for life. All we ask is that you spread the MyEhive word and tell all your friends about us, including using our "email to a friend" feature on all our product places.>/p>
Can I sell goods on MyEhive? Yes and we don't take a commission either.
Yes. MyEhive is devoted to people who want to make a living doing what they love doing the most, by giving them affordable shop creation tools so they can have their own shop active in seconds. We actively encourage you got out and make something to sell on MyEhive.com. We encourage non-mass produced items. Fair trade items, items produced by co-ops and collectives. Can I buy goods on MyEhive?
Yes. You can buy unique handmade gifts for yourself and others, contribute less to land fill by buying something handmade, and source locally made goods and suppliers in the UK & Ireland. We will have the largest database of artisans and handmade producers in the UK & Ireland. We are imagining a world without oil, how would you buy things then? You would have to source locally. We want to bring wealth back to local communities, get neighbors talking again and getting support networks (Swarms!) up so when trucks can't get to your supermarket, you will have a ready made network of suppliers for all your needs.
Which features of MyEhive.com are available to me during the beta trial?
You can view and edit your profile, add your profile picture, open your shop, add an announcement, add product photos, banners, descriptions, tags, set postage inland UK & Ireland and international, edit you account details, address location, comment on the forum, submit articles and multi-media clips to the Cocoon (our blog) and also join us on MySpace, facebook and flickr, twitter and much more!
Which features of MyEhive.com will be available after the beta trial?
You can link your MyEhive.com shop up to your Paypal account to start receiving money from sales, set your subdomain, leave feed back, make custom product requests, collect subscribers to you shop, view stats, use our local listings to find sellers near you, customise your own domain name, use stock control, and add shop sections, integrate Google analytics, RSS feeds and much more!
Even if I open my shop today why do I have to wait till the 01.10.08 to start selling?
We want world wide shoppers to be able to see lots of great products to buy from your shops, when we go live, and make the site an interesting, engaging shopping and browsing experience for everyone.
By activating your account today you can be ahead of the rest by taking part in our beta launch, testing our site features uploading your products, and taking advantage of our free offer. Commenting in ‘Waggle’ or forum boards will help us test the robustness of our system and to help us iron out any bugs before we go live to the public on the 01.10.08.
Do I need a merchant bank account to sell on MyEhive.com?
No you don’t need to set up an expensive merchant account linked to your bank account.
Paypal is all you need.
I just want to set up a buyer account so I can buy stuff on MyEhive.com. Do I need a Paypal account?
NO! But you will be re directed to Paypal payment systems to pay for things you have bought – but you don’t need an account! You can use your CC or DC to pay through Paypal but you don’t need to have a Paypal account.
Confusing? Yes. Especially when we tell you if you once opened a Paypal account and registered your CC or DC and you can’t remember your email address as Paypal is asking you for it, because it recognises your name and card details. In this case contact Paypal for email & password reminder.
Each seller has the option to click “Other” forms of payment excepted in their shop. This maybe because they have chosen our Free “Worker” package and do not have a Paypal account to accept payment - The ‘Worker’ package is available from 01.10.08 In this case you can pay by whichever method the seller has stated in their payment terms.
Why do I need a PayPal account?
You will need one to pay your MyEhive.com fees. If you have signed up for a ‘Drone’ or ‘Queen’ package AFTER the 01.10.08.
When someone buys something from your MyEhive.com shop from the 01.10.08 the money is sent to you online via PayPal. MyEhive.com uses PayPal exclusively because it’s safe, reliable, easy to use and is the best way of getting your money to you.
Using PayPal also allows you to accept credit cards and eChecks, as well as different currency. You’ll need a Premier or Business PayPal account to use MyEhive.com. Apply for a free Paypal account now, it is easy!
Does MyEhive.com take a percentage of each sale in my store?
A big NO. It’s your money and you get to keep it.
Unlike other services, MyEhive.com does not take any money or charge any fees per transaction. The normal PayPal fees will still apply.
Can I change the PayPal account billed for my store once I have linked them up?
Unfortunately this isn’t as easy as you’d think. Due to the way PayPal handles subscriptions, your MyEhive.com store is permanently tied to the PayPal account you signed up with. In order to change the account being billed you would need to do the following:

Sign up for a new MyEhive.com store using the new PayPal account. Be sure to select a different sub domain since your existing one is still in use. Not to worry, we’ll be changing the sub domain back in the end.

Update your new store to match your existing one. Products, colors, everything. Note: This goes pretty quickly for most stores, but if you have a ton of products then contact us for help.

When your new store is ready, cancel your existing MyEhive.com store in the admin area and contact us so we can transfer your old subdomain to your new store.
We are working hard to find a better solution for dealing with PayPal on this. Thanks for your understanding.
Important: this only applies to the PayPal account being billed for your store. You can change the PayPal account you receive money with at any time in your store admin.
What currencies will my store accept?
MyEhive.com stores can take payment in different currencies that Paypal accepts, the following included:

- Australian Dollar : AUD - $
- Pound Sterling : GBP - £
- Euro : EUR - €
- Yen : JPY - ¥
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes, from 01.10.08 you will be able to customise your MyEhive.com subdomain name “www.yourshopname.MyEhive.com” or you will be able to link any existing domain name you may have purchased and were waiting to use ie. “www yourname.com” We can show you how to implement before we go live to the public.
